The History of Vickery Christian Academy (VCA)
The History of VCA Began at Home – and Why We Are Different

The vision of Vickery Christian Academy began in 2011, when several homeschooling families gathered at a home on Jalan Ciniru 2 No. 5 to learn how to establish a Christ-centered family vision and mission. These families committed to educating their children from home—teaching and training them to develop Christlike character in preparation to become future leaders of the nation. These leaders would lead with the fear of the Lord, grounded in the truth of God’s Word, and remain faithful to the values of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
VCA MISSON
Building Christ-Centered Families
To build Christ-centered families committed to educating their children from home—teaching and training them to develop Christlike character, in preparation to become leaders of the nation who will lead in the fear of the Lord, grounded in the truth of God’s Word and faithful to the values of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
Deuteronomy 6:5–7
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

Commitment to the Vision
1. CHRIST-CENTERED FAMILIES
Parents in the VCA community are committed to regularly building their relationship with Christ through family altar time, reading God’s Word, and prayer. They maintain harmonious relationships within the family, actively participate in their local church, and conduct weekly discussions on Care Group materials together with their children.
2. PRIORITIZING TIME TO BUILD CHRISTLIKE CHARACTER
VCA parents are dedicated to educating, teaching, and training their children to grow in Christlike character—especially the core values taught monthly during morning devotions at VCA. These include attentiveness, obedience, truthfulness, and responsibility. Parents model these values through example, discipline, encouragement, and correction.
3. GUIDING CHILDREN TO BUILD MOTIVATION AND DISCIPLINE IN LEARNING
Parents in the VCA community are homeschoolers, with at least one parent not working full-time, so they can create a home environment that inspires and motivates learning. They support their children in following monthly, weekly, and daily study schedules and cultivate good habits to complete their assignments according to the academic goals set by the school.
4. INSTILLING LOVE FOR INDONESIA AND FAITHFULNESS TO GOD’S CALL FOR THE NATION
VCA parents teach their children to love the Indonesian language and use it properly, to appreciate the richness of the nation’s ethnic and cultural diversity, and to practice tolerance toward neighbors and people of different religions and beliefs. They also instill the values of Pancasila and foster a strong sense of unity and loyalty to the Republic of Indonesia.

Roles and Responsibilities
The vision and mission of VCA are founded on the belief that all standards, rules, and disciplines are established based on the values and truth of God’s Word.
VCA is a community that believes parents are the God-appointed authority and hold the primary responsibility to educate, teach, and discipline their children according to God’s commandments, while also obeying the rules, standards, and disciplines set by VCA.
The principal, administrators, teachers, and staff at VCA serve as partners to the parents, bearing the responsibility to educate, teach, and discipline the children only to the extent delegated by the parents to the principal, administrators, teachers, and staff during school hours and days, and within the scope of the tasks assigned by the school leadership.
